Pre-School

Valley Pre-School is a new space in a separate, purpose designed and adapted accommodation on the main school site.  It is a self-contained unit and currently accommodates children aged 2-4 years old. We offer the following sessions, term time only:

Full day: 9am - 3pm x 5 days (30hrs) optional extra hour 3pm-4pm 

Morning: 9am-12pm x 5 days (15hrs)

Afternoon: 12pm-3pm x 5 days (15hrs)

Bookable Wraparound hours: 

Breakfast Club 7.45am-9am (includes breakfast) 

After Pre-School 4pm-6pm (includes a snack)

Prices and Funding:

If you are eligible for 15hrs / 30hrs government funding, then the core hours of 9am-3pm will be fully or partly covered by your funding. Please check your eligibility here: Free Childcare for Working Parents: Check if you're eligible - GOV.UK

If you are not eligible for funding or want to book hours outside of the core funded hours, the following fees will apply:

Breakfast club 7.45am-9am  £8.50 per session (includes breakfast)

Optional extra hour 3pm-4pm £7.50 per session

After Pre-School 4pm-6pm £17.00 per session (includes a snack)

Any core hours (9am-3pm) not covered by 15hr / 30hr funding will be chargeable at the following rates:

2-3 year olds £9.00 per hour (until the term after the child's 3rd birthday)

3-4 year olds £7.50 per hour (from the term after the child's 3rd birthday) 

Please note that all fees are invoiced half-termly in advance for a period of 6-8 weeks at a time. We accept childcare vouchers / tax- free childcare payments. 

Meals and Consumables

The following items are not included within funded hours. These charges are optional, and children will continue to received their funded hours even if parents choose not to access these extras. 

Children need to bring a packed lunch, but food is provided for Breakfast Club (7.45am-9am) and After Pre-School Club (4pm-6pm). Nappies, wipes, cream etc. need to be provided by the parent. 

Waiting List

We operate a waiting list and it is run on a priority basis with preference given to children requiring a full time place, then siblings of children already in Valley Preschool or Primary School.

Activities

These include water, sand, puzzles, books, role-play, music, computer skills, modelling, painting, outdoor activities, construction play, science, pencil skills, cutting, sticking, pre-reading and early mathematical activities.  The children work towards a curriculum with support from the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Staffing

A fully qualified Nursery Nurse (N.N.E.B.) leads the Pre-School.  A teacher within the main school advises on curriculum planning and assessment.
